Kaaru
(June 2009 to date) |
Associate Designer
Working with Kaaru an architectural and design firm, on a number of projects including
The Khalsa Project - Working on the design of multiple installations for the Khalsa Heritage Complex in Anandpur Sahib. A new museum on Sikh History and Culture. Work includes the design and detailing of installations, prototyping and sampling, the creation of ready for production drawings, coordinating with production and installation at site.
The Tirupati project - A project to design and create an archway out of Silver at the Tirupati Temple. Work included creating a project proposal, taking site measurements and documenting existing silver work, creating design and detail drawings, supervising the creation of the artworks, prototyping and sampling, setting up artisan studio and coordinating production of silver panels.

Craft Revival Trust
(November 08 - May 09) |
Researcher
Worked with CRT on a UNESCO project, creating a template questionnaire for conducting the Cultural mapping of India. Work included revising and editing craft mapping questionnaire, preparing guidelines for filling out form and filling out test forms.
Designer
Designed and laid out a book on the Block Printing Clusters of India. Work included book design, selecting and editing images, designing graphic and text styles. |
Craft Revival Trust
(2003 - 2008 on a project basis) |
Designer Conceptualised, Developed, Designed and Illustrated an activity book for children based on the Kalamkari Painting and Drawings of India. The aim of the book was to familiarise children with the art form and to teach its traditions. Work included research into the art, the collection of images, illustration of pages, the editing and the layout of the book. Book is going to be published.
Research Assistant
Worked on an encyclopedic listing of the 'Crafts of India' and 'Tribal Crafts' as part of a UNESCO projects. Work included research, writing and editing information. Work has been published in CD form |
